RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - UPDATE 12:22 p.m. Jan. 22, 2021

A four-vehicle collision had Rapid City police on the scene at the intersection of Omaha Street and West Boulevard Thursday night.

Two occupants of a Ford F-150 pickup truck ran a red light driving southbound when it struck a westbound Subaru Forester. Another car involved crashed onto a nearby sidewalk and one of the vehicles involved was a Rapid City Taxi, according to Rapid City Police.

The crash left the front of the F-150 pickup truck significantly damaged, police said.

As police and the Rapid City Fire Department were helping remove the two passengers from the truck, they found syringes, drug paraphernalia and a loaded gun in the vehicle.

Police found several loaded syringes, a digital scale and several jeweler’s baggies filled with a white crystal substance in the purse of the woman passenger. She was later identified as 31-year-old Sarah Decatur of Rapid City.

When police removed the driver, who later would be identified as 25-year-old Ryan Terrill of Box Elder, a loaded gun fell to the ground, police said. Police also observed a loaded syringe on the driver’s side floorboard when removing Terrill.

Terrill was issued a PR bond for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Commission of a Felony with a Firearm. Decatur was issued a PR bond for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Distribution of a Controlled Substance.

The driver of the Subaru Forester, identified as 26-year-old Cassidy Deneire of Rapid City, was found to be driving under the influence after police investigation. He was issued a PR bond for DUI (2nd Offense). Police continue to investigate the incident.

Police made contact with the driver of the Forester at the hospital to get information about the crash. When police made contact with the driver, identified as 26-year-old Cassidy Deneire of Rapid City, they noted the strong smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.

Following a DUI investigation, it was determined Deneire was too impaired to safely operate a motor vehicle. He was issued a PR bond for DUI (2nd Offense). Police continue to investigate the incident.
