Not guilty plea in Rapid City murder case
A Rapid City man accused of killing a Manderson woman back in April pleads not guilty in Seventh Circuit Court Thursday morning. 58-year old Marlon Little Bald Eagle is charged with first degree murder and alternative counts of second and third degree rape.
Judge Craig Pfeifle gave prosecutors 30 days to decide whether to seek the death penalty in the case or to come back and explain why they need more time to make that determination. The woman was found dead near the railroad tracks on Maple Avenue on April 23rd and after an investigation, Little Bald Eagle was indicted on the murder and rape charges on May 13th. He faces either life in prison or the death penalty if he’s convicted of the murder charge. He’s due back in court on July 22nd.
