Almost 300 women gathered in Deadwood Friday, to participate in the 7th Annual Woman’s Business Conference.

The conference is an opportunity to share ideas, learn from others, offer advice and network.

Speakers talked on a variety of issues such as a new trend of managing generational differences in the work place.

"I think what he have to do is take time to understand the mindset of each generation and find ways to feed their need a not just be so stiff on it that it has to be my way,” said keynote speaker Maria Higgins, CEO of Clear Steps Group, Inc., “because again, we have to respect each other."

Five businesses led by females were each given 5 minutes to share their story.

"I think what's unique is it really targets woman,” said Helen Merriman, S.D. C.E.O. director, “It targets how do we help strengthen woman who are in business, how do we help strengthen their leadership position, how do we help and encourage a lot of connectivity."

The conference is put on by Black Hills State University and S.D. C.E.O.
